Targeting small and medium businesses, the Pune based Max Secure Software on Tuesday rolled out Enterprise Edition of its anti-virus range in Gujarat.

"This edition of our anti-virus is based on client server architecture model to detect and delete viruses and spyware across a network while putting control in hands of IT administrator," CEO Max Secure, Sanjay Pradhan told reporters.

"The edition operates on a patented smart scan technology by the company to speed detection of 7.5 million virus threats on network clients PC's, involving less memory," he said.

Eyeing a five per cent share in an estimated Rs 500 anti-virus market in India largely dominated by Symantec and MacAfee, the company has proposed to expand the network of its channel partners across the country over next one year.

"After stabilising our anti-virus product range in markets like US and Western Europe, we are now looking to expand footprints in India," Pradhan said.

"We are looking to expand the network of our channel partners in the country from the existing 500 in three states of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh," he said.

"Our product range available in six languages shall be rolled out in states like Karnataka, Chattisgarh, Bangalore, Kolkata, New Delhi and Chennai in next few months," Pradhan said.

As per industry estimates the market of anti-virus in India is expected to grow at the rate of over 35 per cent annually.
